A RAM Aqua Box is both a secure and waterproof way to mount your electronic devices. You can operate the controls through the sealed Flex-Lens, which is replaceable, should it ever be damaged. Power, earphone, and accessory cables can be routed through a self-draining baffle designed to keep moisture out while allowing the device to breathe and stay cool.
All RAM Aqua Boxes include an assortment of high-density foam shims of various thicknesses so you can customize the fit of your electronic device. The Wide Aqua Box is the perfect size for most GPS vehicle navigators. Note, however, that GPS units with flip-up tab-style antennas, such as the nuvi 660, will not fit in any of the Aqua Boxes with the antenna deployed. Also, touchscreens that utilize an electrical trace current, like those on an Apple iPhone, won't work with the Flex-Lens, since it will act as insulation between your fingertip and the screen. Interior dimensions measure 4.0 x 6.0 x 1.75 inches.
AquaBox Installation Tips
- Using a suitable tool, remove the "knock-out" opening found on the back side of the Aqua Box to accommodate the wires and cables from your device.
- After deciding how you will mount the Aqua Box, locate the two U-shaped thin spots in the concentric circles around the opening that ultimately will be positioned downward and remove them.
- Run your wires through the U-shaped openings, which will also allow the Aqua Box to "breathe," preventing the buildup of condensation.
- Install the B202 Round Mount to the back of the Aqua Box.
