Charge your battery, heated gear, portable music system, bike-to-bike intercom, cell phone, GPS receiver, or radar detector from a conveniently located outlet. Includes a powerlet-type socket with a spring-loaded cover and two spade connectors, brass jamnut, washer, and rubber mounting cushion.
Installation will require your choosing a panel location that has about an inch and a half of room behind it for the socket body and wires, and drilling an 11/16 inch hole to receive it. To wire the socket, a Powerlet T-connector will give you a dependable quick-disconnect fitting that will let you easily remove the body panel for routine maintenance. (Note that for a drilling a clean and accurate hole, we recommend using a step drill, a cone-shaped drill bit with a series of "steps" for drilling progressively larger holes.) The result will be a very clean, factory-installed look.
If you don't have quite enough space behind your body panel, consider the PSO7 panel mount socket, which needs less clearance. Or, if you'd rather not put a hole in your bodywork, you could use an existing bolt to mount a single or double socket bracket to hold the unit. To power a socket of this kind directly from your battery, check out PKT42, which includes a heavy-duty fuse protected harness.
