The RAM B238U Diamond Base is a marine-grade aluminum alloy plate recommended for use on most RAM device holders. It supplies the one-inch ball needed to connect the holder with a RAM arm socket. The two holes are spaced 1.912 inches from center to center, which conforms to the diagonal measurement between the four holes on an industry standard AMPS (American Mobile Phone Standard) pattern, which is used on most factory-supplied device holders.
The Diamond Base can also be used to hold Magellan RoadMate GPS receivers in the 300, 500, 500 Plus, and 700 Series, since the holes line up with those found the devices. And, like all bases, if you are willing to drill some holes, the B238U Diamond Base could also be used as a sturdy mount.
