Rain happens, so you need to be ready. Motorcycle raingear is made in a wide range of styles, colors, and materials at different price points. Sizing should be just right to fit over your riding gear without being too loose and flapping in the wind. PVC-coated nylon textiles are usually less expensive but they do not breathe. More expensive textiles usually have a higher vapor transfer rate (breathability) while still being waterproof. Hot pipes are an issue. If your bike has exposed hot surfaces, look for rain pants with heat protection. Carry raingear on every ride and you won’t regret it. Raingear can also be used in a pinch to help block wind and cold even if it’s not raining.
